Amy Durand is an Edmonton based lawyer and investigator who took the long way to her legal career. Her decade of work experience in public, private and not-for-profit organizations inspired a passion for making workplaces better places.
Amy received her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2022, clerked at the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2023.

Prior to joining Southern Butler Price, Amy articled at a mid-sized regional law firm with a focus on labour, employment and professional regulation. Amy was recognized as adept and adaptable, consistently producing quality results beyond her year of call. In her previous work, Amy has advised elected officials and several organizations’ senior leadership. Amy has a deep commitment to reconciliation and a particular interest in supporting Indigenous communities and workplaces.
Amy has worked in Edmonton’s Inner City, Alberta’s Legislature, Montreal, Washington D.C. and Rwanda.
In addition to her Law degree, Amy has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Certificate in Peace and Post-Conflict Studies.
Amy is both passionate and compassionate, thoughtful and practical, and focused on realistic but meaningful improvements.
